Alchemy and Magic - Saturday October 10 & Sunday October 11, 2009

Alchemy and Magic

“Turn and face the strange.” – David Bowie

Change is the only constant. We are asked to integrate the new and release the outdated with every breath. Alchemy is the art of transformation and the study of movement from one state of being to another. We can access maps from other times and be guided by healers, artists, magicians and seekers who have walked this path before us.

What do you want more than anything? What do you want to be free of? Does your life support your deepest longings?

In this experiential workshop we will use our minds, hearts, voices and bodies to remember why we are here and begin to embrace the changes for which our lives have been asking. We explore ancient alchemical scripts and delve into our own inner alchemy—revealing the golden truth of the divine self in the laboratory of our souls.

Ravyn Stanfield is a healer, writer, lover and aspiring alchemist dedicated to bringing more of the extraordinary into the world through the cracks of Western civilization. She practices acupuncture in Portland, Oregon. She teaches magical workshops internationally and in the Oregon prison system. Ravyn is an initiate in the Reclaiming and Feri traditions. She will never stop creating erotic revolution that restores our wild and strange humanity, and ultimately, our collective health.

Reclaiming is a community of women and men working to unify spirit and politics. Our vision is rooted in the religion and magic of the Goddess, the Immanent Life Force. We see our work as teaching and making magic; the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live

Dream Journey Class

I would like to clarify and let you all know a little bit more about the Dream Journey class that Brook and I are co-teaching while he is here at the end of February.

We have set aside two consecutive Fridays for Dream Incubation. If you are planning to attend the workshop on Saturday, February 28 you should plan to attend the Dream Incubation on Friday, February 20 or the next Friday, February 27 -- You do NOT need to attend BOTH Fridays!

If you do NOT have trouble recollecting and recording your dreams, or you already have a dream you would like to work with during the Dream Journey workshop, you can come Saturday, February 28 workshop without attending either of the rituals on the two consecutive Fridays.

On Friday, February 20 and Friday, February 28, we will meet in preparation of the Dream Journey workshop. We will cast circle, ask the Goddess of Dreaming to aid us in our magickal work, and send several suggestions to our unconscious mind to remember our dreams.

We will meet at 7:00 PM at Spirit Wise. Ritual should last 1 1/2 hours or so. Please be prompt.

The Iron Pentacle - TWO SUNDAYS – FEB 8 & 15

The Iron Pentacle

TWO SUNDAYS – FEB 8 & 15

Reclaim the qualities of Sex, Pride, Self, Power and Passion. Call them
back to you and claim them as your birthrights. Our culture has twisted
these words: we, as Witches, know that we can use these words, they are
sacred. They are the building blocks to becoming more human.

Using our magical skills, moving and shaping energy, transforming
ourselves through trance to explore the five points of our inner
pentacle: Sex (primal energy), Self, Passion, Pride (self-esteem), and
Power (effectiveness in the worlds).

Reclaiming is a community of individuals working to unify spirit and
politics. Our vision is rooted in the religion and magic of the Goddess,
the Immanent Life Force. We see our work as teaching and making magic;
the art of empowering ourselves and each other.

Our blessings continue to multiply!

I am pleased to announce we are joining hands with our Pagan brothers/sisters to co-create an Elements of Magic class next year. More details will follow, but our tentative plan is to co-teach
Elements with experienced, dynamic priest/esses of Highlands Ranch Pagan Meetup and amazing Reclaiming teachers. Truly we will co-facilitate a spiritual marriage. We even have heard a rumor that we may have some Radical Faeries join us for these classes!

Three Saturdays in a row
January 10, Jan 17 & Jan 24
South Littleton/Highlands Ranch location TBD
Cost $45 to $60 sliding scale, (partial scholarships provided based on need, work trade also available, as needed.)

Pre-registration will be required. As we are co-creating this event with Highlands Ranch Pagan Meetup, we will set up a meetup site for registration and payment. The teaching staff is evolving!! Kath and Joy and several guest star co-teachers will be announced soon.

**We are also considering offering a limited number of spaces for teens and young adults with adult consent. More details forthcoming.

We are also in the planning stages for an Iron Pentacle class to follow closely after Elements. We are hopeful that the following tentative dates work well for *Feral* and her teaching team.

Iron Pentacle is tentatively scheduled for three Sundays in a row, Feb 8, Feb 15 & Feb 22. Assuming these dates work for Feral subject to change.

More great classes that are tentatively scheduled are:

Rites of Passage Weekend Intensive with Special Guest: Brook Schoenfield
Tentatively Feb 27, Feb 28 & March 1

The Black Heart of Innocence: A Reclaiming/Feri Tradition offering taught by instructor Brook Schoenfield from Oakland. Weekend Intensive - Tentatively March 7 & Mar 8

So, in addition to our Breakfast Club Ritual/Potluck on December 7 at 10:30 AM at Spirit Wise and our annual Reclaiming Spirit Membership Meeting on Sunday, January 25, 2009, we hope this star-studded line up of Reclaiming/Feri classes with entice and excite you.

WORKSHOP REMINDER: Priestessing: Building Community and Connection to Diety and Each Other

Priestessing: Building Community and Connection to Diety and Each Other

In this experiential workshop, we will develop our community priestessing skills.

This course will include:

* Creating empowering participatory rituals.
* Developing and leading effective meditations and trances.
* Using consensus process to build energy and create inclusive rituals for community members.

This workshop will explore advanced community ritual work, in that:

* Consensus is empowering and inclusive
* Priestessing is sensitive and consensus based, collaborative
* People in the community are getting rich experiences through trance

This workshop will be participatory and experiential. We will be opening to magic and transformation.

We will collectively explore:
* Building a safe magical container
* Creating consensus in community rituals
* Using and moving energy in responsible, safe ways
* Tending and leading
* Collaborating and co-creating ritual intent, meditations, trances and chants.

Participants should come prepared to explore and experiment. The facilitators believe that each of us is her own spiritual authority. No activity at this workshop is mandatory. We request participants to commit to attending the whole workshop.

Saturday, October 4, 2008 - 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

This can be advanced work so we highly recommend that individuals attending have magical experience such as coven experience, spiritual practice, Reclaiming Elements of Magic, Wicca Basics or equivalent as a prerequisite.

Cost: $50 to $95, sliding scale, scholarships available

This experiential workshop is co-facilitated by Brook Schoenfield, a Priestess in the Reclaiming and Feri Traditions of Witchcraft. Brook's material springs from his wonder at the beauty and sacredness of life, from our need for connection with each other and with spirit, and from
the challenges of trying to live a life based in vulnerability and emotional honesty. His material ranges from sweet to ironic, from the poetic to strong calls to action. Brook has worked with many groups internationally as a facilitator and consensus trainer.
